Java 2(1.4) Programmer’s Certification Course

Hello JavaMUG member,

JavaMUG will be running a Java 2 Platform 1.4 Programmer’s Certification Course this Spring. This course is designed to help you prepare for Sun’s 310-035 exam. The class will run for 10 consecutive Tuesdays starting March 25, 2003. Due to classroom restrictions,the course will be limited to 100 people so sign up early.

Ramdhan Kotamaraja, our current JavaMUG Educational Director, will be teaching the course. Jean Johnson will be assisting him.

Prerequisites

This course is aimed at JavaMUG members Who

#1 Already working in java and want to take the certification.

#2 Know java and want to take certification to hone their skills.

#3 If you don't know Java and would like to attend the course, you will be welcome, however, a basic working knowledge of Java is assumed, so you will need to learn the basics of Java syntax outside the class. The exam is aimed at people who have atleast 6 months of java experience. Programmer’s exam.  It will not teach Java.

Cost Information

The cost of the course is tentatively set at $35 per person. The final cost of the course will announced in JavaMUG’s March meeting.

The course will use Java 2, Sun Certified Programmer and Developer for Java 2 by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates, ISBN: 0072226846.  You can purchase this required text on Amazon and receive a 30% discount.

Attendance will be taken and will count towards the class certificate. Details on the requirements for receiving the class certificate will be announced during the first meeting.
